Students and visitors may park in any campus parking lot space except those clearly marked:

  • No Parking
  • Loading Zone
  • Fire Zone
  • Reserved
     

Parking is not permitted:

  • Along curbs marked as fire lanes
  • On the lawn or sidewalks
  • In any college driveways
  • On nearby business properties
  • In any manner that blocks or obstructs driveways
     

Use of more than one parking space per vehicle is not permitted. Faculty and students who park at area hospitals, nursing homes, garages, libraries, child care centers, or other nearby facilities must comply with that agency’s parking regulations.

Peak Parking Times

Students may experience difficulty finding parking during peak class hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Monday – Friday: 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Group ID and Parking Decal Requests

If an instructor would like to send an entire class to obtain student IDs and parking decals at the same time, please contact the Campus Police and Public Safety Communications Supervisor (919-536-7255, ext. 5555) to schedule a specific date and time.


Identification Cards

To help ensure a safe campus environment, students are expected to carry identification while on campus or at any college-sponsored event. Students must present identification when requested by Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ faculty or staff.

Acceptable identification includes:

  • Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ ID
  • Driver’s License
  • State ID
  • Passport
  • Military ID
     

Students must have a valid Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ ID card to use campus services or facilities (including libraries and computer labs).

How to Obtain a Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ ID Card

Each newly admitted student may obtain a Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ ID card during their first semester or at the start of their program.

To receive a Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ ID card, students must:

Replacing Your ID Card

Damaged ID Cards

Students with a damaged Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ ID card should bring it to the Campus Police and Public Safety Office:

There is no replacement fee unless there is evidence of abuse. If damage is due to abuse, a $10 replacement fee will be charged.

Lost ID Cards

Students who have lost their ID card may obtain a replacement by:

  1. Paying a $10 replacement fee at the Cashier’s Office in White (Building 1), Room 1-159C
  2. Bringing the payment receipt and a valid photo ID to the Wynn Center (Building 10), outside Room 10-209
     
Updating Your ID Card

Semester/Term Updates

Beginning one week prior to each semester/term, students may obtain a new ID card updated for the current term. To receive an updated ID, students must:

  • Be registered for courses
  • Have paid tuition
     

Name Changes

Students needing a replacement ID due to a name change should bring their current card to the Campus Police and Public Safety Office. No replacement fee is charged with proof of name change.

Parking Permits

Parking permits for students, applicants, and visitors are available at Wynn Center (Building 10), outside Room 10-209. The Parking Permit/Identification Card Request Form is used for both ID cards and parking permits. Permits are available after the registration process is complete and are valid for one year, expiring on August 31.

Permit Requirements

All vehicles parked on campus must display a valid parking permit:

  • Permit must be hung from the rearview mirror

  • Permit must face outward so it is visible to campus officers and staff
     

Vehicles parked on campus without a current permit will be ticketed and may be towed.

The parking fee for all credit (curriculum) students is included in the student administrative fee for each term and in the continuing education college access, parking, and security fee (CAPS). Students enrolled in classes that have no tuition costs are not required to pay the CAPS fee.
