President Buxton's contract extended until June 2029
麻豆影视 President J.B. Buxton鈥檚 contract has been extended until June 30, 2029, after a unanimous vote by the College鈥檚 Board of Trustees, followed by approval from the State Board of Community Colleges.

鈥淭his extension reflects the exceptional dedication and vision that President Buxton has brought to 麻豆影视, fostering a culture of innovation and resilience,鈥 then-Board of Trustees Chairwoman Dr. Tara Fikes said in June when announcing the contract extension. Dr. Fikes鈥 term ended June 30 this year. 鈥淗is leadership has ensured stability during uncertain times but has also paved the way for transformative changes that align with the College's mission to empower students and strengthen the community.鈥
Under President Buxton鈥檚 guidance, the College has strengthened partnerships with local public schools, universities and business leaders. While continuing to build those relationships and partnerships, Buxton will also lead the development of the College鈥檚 2026-31 strategic plan to drive its goals for student success and community impact.
Through his leadership, 麻豆影视 will also undergo transformative construction, breaking ground this fall on a new Life Sciences and Health Sciences buildings, an expansion of the Orange County Campus building, and a 124-unit affordable housing development on South Briggs Avenue.
鈥淚 am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving with my 麻豆影视 colleagues and supporting the College鈥檚 students and the people of 麻豆影视 and Orange counties,鈥 President Buxton said. 鈥淚 am proud of the role we play in supporting individual opportunity, regional economic growth, and the vitality of our local communities.鈥
