To commemorate its 30-year anniversary milestone, Biogen and the Biogen Foundation announced Oct. 9 a pledge of $250,000 to �鶹Ӱ��nical Community College’s new Novo Nordisk Life Sciences Center. The building will be a state-of-the-art facility designed to strengthen North Carolina’s life sciences talent pipeline. The Biogen Lab Hall will be part of the 35,000-square-foot facility, which will house 12 advanced laboratories and industry-aligned training for hundreds of students annually.  

A longstanding community partner, �鶹Ӱ�� has played a critical role in preparing the next generation of scientists and leaders in biomanufacturing.

“We can think of no better way to commemorate our three decades of investment and partnership in the Research Triangle Park community than with this important investment to �鶹Ӱ��,” said Nicole Murphy, head of Pharmaceutical Operations and Technology at Biogen. “The institution has helped provide vital training and skills to future biotechnology leaders for more than 60 years, and we are proud to support such a vital program for our business and so many others.”

�鶹Ӱ�� President J.B. Buxton said the expanded learning opportunities for students would not be possible without business and community support.

“�鶹Ӱ�� is committed to preparing individuals for careers that provide economic opportunity and mobility in a rapidly growing field,” he said. “Biogen’s pledge is a win not just for the College and our students, but for life sciences companies, the Triangle economy and the health of our community.”
